Courses for exchange students

The Finnish academic education system offers students significant freedom and responsibility in planning and scheduling their studies. Final course registrations occur approximately one month before the start of the exchange study period, either in early August or early December. Only exchange students who have completed our university registration can register for courses online by the given deadlines. Course registration is not a race, but it's essential to meet the registration deadlines, which vary by course. After the deadlines, teachers will select participants. At Tampere University, some study fields offer more courses with an independent study completion option in English, meaning without lectures. This flexible approach might be quite different from what you are used to.
