Tampere University Student’s Guide

Student health insurance for exchange students

If you don't have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), or a valid private health insurance policy, you'll need to pay the full costs for health services, including the actual expenses of medical care and mandatory customer fees.

It's highly recommended that all exchange students, including those from the EU/EEA/EFTA, have private international health insurance

Tampere University isn't responsible for any medical charges incurred by its students. Having proper health insurance protects you from unexpected, high medical costs if you have a serious accident or illness and ensures you have quick access to a private doctor if needed.
