Student health insurance for exchange students
If you do not have a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC), or a private health insurance policy, you will be required to pay the full costs of health services, including both the actual medical expenses and mandatory customer fees.
Tampere University strongly recommends that all exchange students – including EU/EEA/EFTA students – have private international health insurance in addition to any public coverage
Tampere University is not responsible for any medical costs incurred by students. A proper health insurance policy protects you from unexpected and potentially high medical expenses in the event of an accident or serious illness, and it also allows faster access to private healthcare services if needed.
