International Business (Bachelor's)
Information for new students 2026
Congratulations and Welcome to TAMK!
This page contains practical advice and other useful information, so please read it carefully.
Please note that changes are possible and the page is subject to updates. Ensure you check the information again before the start of your studies, and remember to follow your TUNI email.
Start of studies
The orientation studies for all new International Business (IB) students will start on 25 August 2026 at 9.30 in TAMK Main campus (Kuntokatu 3). There will be IB Student Tutors waiting for you in the lobby to guide you to the right place.
Before the studies, make sure you have a well working laptop and take it with you.
Orientation Days
The Orientation Days 25–28 August 2026 are mandatory and the best way to get started with your studies. You will meet with everyone in your study group and get to know each other, talk to the key people in building your future: your student tutors and teacher tutors, other lecturers, the head of your programme, your study counsellor, TAMK social counsellor, student union members and many more. You will also get to know various TAMK/TUNI electronic services which you need e.g. for enrolling on the courses, and you will see and hear about our facilities and services. Open University students should also join the orientation days.

Curriculum and credit transfer for prior Bachelor's studies
Take a closer look at your curriculum to better understand your study and learning goals. The course descriptions include methods, teachers, timing of the course within the academic year, evaluation criteria and exam types.
Degree Programme in International Business: 26IB
This information is especially important if you wish to transfer credits for some previously completed higher education courses, since you need to propose the substitution and discuss the matter with your Student Counsellor.
If you have prior studies at higher education level and wish to transfer credits, contact your Student Counsellor and make an appointment in advance to avoid the rush during the orientation days. For credit transfer, you'll need:
- your own suggestion of the courses from TAMK curriculum that you wish to get accredited for
- official transcript of records
- description of the content of the courses (links to the original curriculum on the university website or equivalent)
- number of credits for each course. If your transcript doesn’t have the number of ECTS credits for each course, you need to include a link to an explanation of the credit system of that university/country.
