Information for new students

Congratulations and Welcome to TAMK!

This page contains practical advice and other useful information, so please read it carefully.

Please note that changes are possible and the page is subject to updates. Ensure you check the information again before the start of your studies, and remember to follow your TUNI email.

Orientation Days

The studies start with Orientation Days

  • on TAMK main campus
  • on Wed 10 Sep 2025 at 14.00–18.00
  • on Thu 11 Sep 2025 at 9.00–16.00.

Participation in the Orientation Days is essential and compulsory for all students, serving as the perfect kick-start to your academic journey. During orientation days, you'll be introduced to the facilities and services, providing you with a comprehensive overview of what to expect during your time here. It's also a great opportunity to meet and bond with your study group, fostering connections that will support your learning. You'll engage directly with influential figures pivotal to your future success, including the program head, your tutor teacher, lecturers, study counselor, TAMK social counselor, among others. The orientation days will provide you with the necessary tools and connections to succeed in your studies and beyond.

Starting of Studies

The first courses start on Fri 12 Sep at 8.30–16.30.

The learning experience is enhanced by active participation. Attendance to the contact sessions on campus is therefore vital for academic progress. Attending classes ensures that valuable learning opportunities are not missed. It also supports keeping learners engaged and connected with peers and instructors.

Attendance Policy

Attendance at all on-campus contact sessions is essential, and students in the IBM programme are expected to be present for every session. These sessions play a crucial role in learning, collaboration, and overall academic success, so students should plan accordingly to ensure their full availability.

Teaching timetables for autumn semester 2025

This information is especially important if you wish to transfer credits for some previously completed Master-level courses, since you need to propose the substitution and discuss the matter with your study counsellor (see contact information below). If you have questions about credit transfer, it’s best to book a meeting time or to send email ahead of time to avoid the rush during the Orientation Days.
