TAMK Student’s Guide

Equality and equity

At Tampere University of Applied Sciences, we are committed to the values of diversity and responsibility, and we strive to promote gender equality in all our activities. Equality of all people is an inalienable principle that TAMK respects in its own operations and promotes in the wider society. Every member of the higher education community has a role to play in advancing equality, non-discrimination and diversity.

The Equality, Equity and Accessibility Plan of Tampere University of Applied Sciences describes the current state of equality, equity and accessibility at TAMK, through which these themes are carried out for both staff and students. Starting from 2026, accessibility has been incorporated into the plan.

The aim of TAMK’s equality and equity work is to identify and prevent expressions, structures and practices that maintain or increase inequality, and to strengthen practices that promote equality, equity and accessibility. At TAMK, the equal treatment of all members of the community and the building of psychological safety are regarded as key themes.

The updated Equality, Equity and Accessibility Plan has been approved by the TAMK Executive Board in March 2026. The English version of the plan will be available in June at the latest. Please note that the plan below is still the old version.
