Credit transfer for bachelor's or master's thesis

If you have completed a thesis in another university of applied sciences and it corresponds with the professional objectives of your current degree programme, the thesis is approved as completed with the original grade. In this case you apply for credit transfer for studies based on the earlier completed thesis. The thesis is only published at TAMK if it has not been published in the prior university of applied sciences. A maturity test is not required if it was passed in the higher education institution where the thesis was made. Once the application is accepted, the acceptor sends the application to the study coordinator for adding the necessary specifications for the degree certificate and ensuring, among other things, that the title of the thesis is written correctly.

Partial credit transfer for bachelor's or master's thesis

A thesis made in another field does not allow credit transfer for studies but related competence can be utilised in the new thesis through credit transfer for competence.

Partial credit transfer for bachelor's or master's thesis means credit transfer for competence in such a way that yout supplement the thesis to respond to the professional objectives of the current degree programme and TAMK's thesis objectives. Before credit transfer for competence the head of degree programme or a person determined by the head of degree programme assesses the scope of and competence produced by the earlier thesis or an equivalent study performance with you. Thereafter you apply for credit transfer for competence as agreed on.

You are then supposed to supplement the thesis to respond to the professional objectives of the current degree programme and TAMK's thesis objectives as agreed on. The thesis supervisor assesses the supplement in accordance with TAMK's thesis criteria and enters it to the study register.

In connection with partial credit transfer to bachelor's or master's thesis, the thesis report has to be written in accordance with TAMK's guidelines and the maturity test has to be completed.
