TAMK Student’s Guide

While studying abroad

1. Registration at the host university

Ask your contact person to verify that you have arrived by filling in, signing and stamping the first half of your

Keep the original and upload it to SoleMOVE After exchange tab once you return to Finland. You don´t need to send the certificate to TAMK Student Mobility Services. NB! Second installment of your grant (20 %) cannot be paid without verified attendance at host university/training company!

2. Changing the learning agreement

Keep in contact with your teachers and make necessary changes to your learning agreement. Use Online Learning Agreement but if your host university doesn´t use it, fill in this form:

Make sure to email your international coordinator before changing any course selections to ensure that the new courses can be accredited to your degree. After his/her approval, list the deleted/added courses in the learning agreement changes form and e-mail it to outgoing.tamk [at] tuni.fi. No signatures are required.

3. If your studies do not progress as planned during your exchange

If the contents of exchange studies change considerably and the planned number of credits is not reached, you have to contact the international coordinator of your degree programme already during the exchange to agree on a new study plan. The primary objective is always to find new courses to replace the planned ones. In extreme cases, the exchange can also be interrupted if teaching is not available. In these cases, you always have to negotiate with the international coordinator of the receiving institution and consult Student Mobility Services outgoing.tamk [at] tuni.fi to solve potential claims for recovery regarding grants before organising the return.

4. Cancellation/interruption of the period abroad

Should the need to arise to cancel or interrupt the exchange, you must first contact outgoing.tamk [at] tuni.fi before making any arrangements (i.e. booking flights, stopping payments on rent). Interruptions of exchanges may result in claiming back all or part of the grant issued before the exchange, and therefore require a decision from either TAMK or the Finnish National Agency.

5. Mandatory "International Experiences and Competences" course

Remember to complete the During the exchange part of the orientation course.
