Student's communication channels
Matters related to studies and studying are communicated through various channels. The communicators can be, for example, the education specialist of your degree programme, teachers, the staff of joint guidance services, IT services or the library. Information and instructions needed during the studies have been compiled in the intranet and the Student's Guide.
Intranet
The intranet is the official channel for internal communication at Tampere Universities and a channel to electronic services. You will see content targeted at the University's students. You can find news, events, links to electronic systems, the Student's Guide, contact information, IT instructions and other instructions on the intranet. You will receive a summary of the intranet news to your e-mail from Monday to Friday.
Student's Guide
The Student's Guide brings together essential information and guidance to support the student's journey from registration to graduation. The Student’s Guide also includes curricula and teaching schedules. You can browse the Student's Guide on the public website as a non-logged-in user or on the intranet logged in with your TUNI username.
Sisu
Sisu is an information system for all stages of your studies. In Sisu, you can see notifications related to your studies and applications. Notifications are also shown on the Intranet start page, and the most important Sisu messages are sent to your TUNI email address. More detailed instructions on using Sisu can be found on the Sisu instructions for students page.
Email lists
Your degree programme may have an email list that is used to communicate about matters related to your studies.
Moodle
Moodle is usually used as a homepage for courses, where course materials, links and assignments are added, for example. Teachers can communicate with you about current issues in the course via Moodle.
Teams
Teams is a workspace for groups in Tampere Universities community. It can also be used as a means of communication.
Goin' app
Goin’ is an application that facilitates community building from day one for all international study offer holders and their tutors. All international degree programme students, exchange students and the international student tutors will receive an invitation to the application. For new degree students, the link for registering is in the acceptance email.
Viva Engage
Viva Engage is an internal social network that connects staff and students across Tampere University and TAMK. Viva Engage is the virtual break room, where you can, for example, communicate and discuss different topics across unit boundaries. You can see some of the messages via the intranet.
Other channels
Public websites and social media channels mainly provide information about the higher education community to applicants, partners and other interested parties.
If you don't know where to start, always remember to head to the intranet first!
