Travelling to Tampere
Before travelling, check which immigration requirements apply to you. These depend on your citizenship, the length and purpose of your stay, and whether you are coming as an exchange or international degree student.
If you are not an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, check whether you need a residence permit for studies, a mobility notification or a Schengen visa. A Schengen visa is intended for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Citizens of an EU Member State, Liechtenstein or Switzerland do not need a residence permit.
Make sure that you have a valid passport, identity card or other travel document accepted by Finland. Before packing, check the restrictions on goods and medicines:
- What you can order or bring to Finland, Finnish Customs
- Bringing medicines to Finland, Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea
Import restrictions on medicines depend on factors including the product’s classification in Finland, the country it comes from and whether it is carried personally or sent by post.
