Student exchange destinations

Tampere University has hundreds of exchange destinations around the world, giving you a wide range of options to choose from. You can include exchange studies completed abroad in your degree. You can find all exchange destinations available for application, together with destination-specific information, in the Mobility-Online portal. During an application round, check the portal to see which destinations are open for applications at that time. Destinations usually become visible only once the application round has begun. Not every destination is available during every application round or academic year.

What should you know about exchange destinations?

Tampere University’s exchange destinations are based on agreements between higher education institutions and on international exchange programmes and networks. These include Erasmus+, bilateral exchange agreements, Nordlys, Nordplus, ISEP and north2north. Most exchange destinations are suitable for both bachelor’s and master’s degree students. However, individual destinations may have restrictions concerning your field or level of study, choice of courses or language proficiency. Always check the requirements in the destination description in the Mobility-Online portal.

Students selected by Tampere University for an exchange do not pay tuition fees to the host university. Tampere University also provides selected exchange students with a travel grant. Once you have found a suitable destination, read the student exchange application instructions.

When choosing an exchange destination, it is worth drawing on the experiences of students who have previously studied abroad. The exchange reports provide information about students’ experiences of studying, accommodation and everyday life during their exchange.
