Welcome Week for exchange students

International Mobility Services organises a mandatory Welcome Week for all new exchange students at the beginning of each semester. The Welcome Week supports your transition to university life and introduces you to studying, living, and student services in Tampere. The programme is usually fully campus-based and is not recorded; however, presentation slides are published in Moodle. Please note that your registration with Tampere University must be completed online before the Welcome Week begins.

• Welcome Week (spring semester 2027): 5 - 8 January 2027

Please note that 6 January 2027 is a public holiday in Finland. As a result, Welcome Week will include a break day with no official programme. Some social activities for exchange students may still be organised, however. Please also be aware that official services, including the TOAS housing office, will be closed on this day. Many smaller shops will also be closed, and public transport services will operate on a reduced schedule.
