<h3><strong>Grading scale</strong></h3><p>Tampere University uses an <a href="/en/node/60805?channel=study_guide&organisation=uni" target="_blank" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="0cfce021-8a53-4135-9dcd-7ab981c0bf67" data-entity-substitution="canonical">official ECTS grading scale</a> of 1-5. We cannot provide other grading scales, such as the 10-point or 100-point scale used by some other universities.</p><h3><strong>PASS / FAIL courses</strong></h3><p>Courses evaluated on a PASS / FAIL basis do not include numerical grades. This indicates whether the student has met the course requirements. If you plan to take a PASS / FAIL course, ensure that your home university accepts this grading method already before the start of the course. <strong>PASS / FAIL grades cannot be converted into numerical grades</strong>.</p><h3><strong>Transcript details</strong></h3><ul><li>First, please remember to <a href="/en/node/5904?channel=study_guide&organisation=uni" target="_blank" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="ae1cbf73-c3e0-4e79-af0b-e50b59aa89b9" data-entity-substitution="canonical">submit your Finnish personal identity code</a> to the Student Affairs Office</li><li>Only passed courses will appear on your transcript</li><li>Courses you registered for but did not pass will not be listed, even if they were included in your <a href="/en/node/5908?channel=study_guide&organisation=uni" target="_blank" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="938747ce-1fe0-41ea-a9b4-290693663d78" data-entity-substitution="canonical">Learning Agreement</a></li><li>We cannot exclude any passed courses from your transcript for any reason</li><li>All courses taken at TAU's city centre, Hervanta, or Kauppi campuses will be included in your transcript</li><li>All courses taken at Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) will be included in your transcript</li><li>Courses taken from <a href="/en/node/3177?channel=study_guide&organisation=uni" target="_blank" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="aa091642-9f79-41ff-a719-312b0dd557b9" data-entity-substitution="canonical">cross-institutional studies in other Finnish universities</a> <strong>will not</strong> automatically appear in your transcript</li><li>If you need to transfer credits with an official academic transcript from other Finnish universities, please be in touch with us (with transcript attached)</li></ul>

Grading scale, PASS / FAIL courses and transcript details

<h3><strong>Before any actions, double-check the following:</strong></h3><ol><li><strong>Finnish personal identity code</strong>: Have you <a href="/en/node/5904?channel=study_guide&organisation=uni" target="_blank" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="ae1cbf73-c3e0-4e79-af0b-e50b59aa89b9" data-entity-substitution="canonical">submitted your Finnish personal identity code</a> to the Student Affairs Office as requested?</li><li><strong>Credits and grades in Sisu</strong>: Do all the credits and grades you were expecting already appear in Sisu? Contact the teacher, if you are missing something</li><li><strong>Transcript requirements</strong>: Does your home university accept an electronically certified transcript?</li></ol><h3><strong>Downloading your transcript from Sisu (when your study right is active)</strong></h3><p>You can download an electronically certified transcript directly from the student information system Sisu if your study right is still active. To access your transcript:</p><ol><li>Select <strong>My profile</strong> from the front page banner in Sisu</li><li>Go to the <strong>Completed credits</strong> tab to see all the courses and units you have completed at the university</li><li>Click the <strong>Form transcript</strong> button on the right side of the screen, choose the printing language, and download your transcript as a PDF file</li></ol><h3><strong>Visit the Student Affairs Office</strong></h3><p>If you are physically in Tampere, you can visit the <a href="/en/node/3041?channel=study_guide&organisation=uni" target="_blank" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="48ff1451-db11-45fb-b76a-f76122ace33d" data-entity-substitution="canonical">Student Affairs Office</a> on Hervanta campus or the city centre campus during opening hours to request a printout of your transcript. The printout is <strong>free of charge</strong> and it can be <strong>signed</strong> and <strong>stamped</strong> on request.</p><h3><strong>Order your transcript by email from the Student Affairs Office</strong></h3><p>If you no longer have an active study right as an exchange student at Tampere University, or if your home university does not accept an electronically certified version of the transcript and you are unable to visit the Student Affairs Office to get a printout, please contact the <a href="/en/node/3041?channel=study_guide&organisation=uni" target="_blank" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="48ff1451-db11-45fb-b76a-f76122ace33d" data-entity-substitution="canonical">Student Affairs Office</a> to order your transcript by email. They can send you the electronically certified version or to the email address that you will provide. The transcript can be also <strong>signed</strong> and <strong>stamped</strong> on request and the service is <strong>free of charge</strong>.</p>
