Curriculum, teaching schedules and teaching modes of the Language Centre
Language Centre's curriculum
Please familiarise yourself with the Language Centre's curriculum either in the PDF file below or through the links, which take you to the Student's Guide's Curriculum section. The curriculum presented here includes all courses, which are taught in English or are targeted at students, whose native language is not Finnish. The language of instruction of other courses at the Language Centre is generally Finnish, and therefore sufficient Finnish skills are required. However, most of the more advanced classes in other foreign languages, e.g. Spanish and German, are taught in the target language, thus students with sufficient knowledge of the language may participate in those courses. The entire curriculum can be found on the Finnish site of the Student's Guide at Kielikeskuksen opetussuunnitelma, opetustarjonta ja opetusmuodot.

Language Centre's teaching schedule
The Vice President for Education has decided on the Language Centre course offerings for the 2026–2027 academic year. The course offerings include the courses to be organized and the teaching periods in which they are organized. According to the guidelines made by the Language Centre steering group, beginner-level courses will be offered once during the curriculum period 2024–2027. In the academic year 2025-2026, the offerings included courses in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. In the 2026–2027 academic year, Italian will be offered. Students can study Portuguese through the courses offered by the KiVANET network.
Teaching schedules for individual courses can be found on the Student Guide's Curriculum section.
Language Centre's teaching modes
Please see either from the table or PDF below the teaching modes, which are used at the Language Centre. Usually an implementation has many groups, which might have different teaching modes. Please check the teaching modes of individual groups in Sisu.
Teaching Mode | Brief Description |

| Blended teaching | Taught as a blend of contact and online teaching according to a pre-announced schedule. |
| Scheduled online teaching | The teaching and learning are carried out in online learning environments. Part of the online distance learning will be carried out according to a pre-announced schedule. The implementation also includes independent and online learning with the student group which are not tied to the specific schedule. |
| Unscheduled online learning | These asynchronized studies take place entirely online, mainly by studying independently. The implementation also includes interaction with the supervisor. There may be online work with other students which is not tied to a specific time. |
