Osaamo coaching

Osaamo coaching provides an alternative to completing the process for academic recognition of competencies independently.

Osaamo coaching: Building competence through validation of non-formal learning (2 ects)

Are you currently employed, or involved in activities outside school that you could incorporate into your degree? Join the Osaamo training, where you’ll receive support for the accreditation process, develop a learning module for accreditation, and complete a demonstration of your learning.

Osaamo coaching focuses on identifying students’ current and future professional competencies, which serve as the basis for designing the process of academic recognition (i.e., a learning plan) with the support of coaches. During the coaching, in regular meetings based on these plans, the content and stages of the students’ academic topics, learning methods, and learning environments are discussed and explored. The coaching also examines the significance, forms, and opportunities of multidisciplinary competence, both at the general level of working life and from the perspective of each participant’s future career. At the end of the coaching, a demonstration of competence is carried out as agreed.

In addition to the 2 credits for the Osaamo coaching, upon completion of their learning plan, students will receive separate personal course credit based on the number of hours completed.

More information about the study unit is available in the TAMK's Study Guide.

Register for the autumn implementation in Pakki. The study unit begins on Mon 7 September, 2026!
