About traineeship abroad

Compulsory practical training is an important part of bachelor’s degrees. Its extent is 30–120 credits depending on the degree programme and specialisation.

A traineeship that forms part of a degree at Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) can be completed abroad, and the international traineeship period may be recognised as part of the student’s internationalisation studies. The minimum duration of an internship abroad is 60 days.

As a rule, students are responsible for arranging their own traineeship placement. Grants are available to support the funding of an international traineeship period.

Financial support for international traineeships

The Erasmus+ program offers students the opportunity for a grant-supported internship in a company or organization in a country participating in the programme.

• An Erasmus+ internship is applied for independently.
• All degree students enrolled at TAMK can apply for an Erasmus+ internship grant.
• The Erasmus+ internship must be part of the student's degree and it is agreed upon with the person responsible for the internship in education.
• A tripartite agreement is concluded for all internships abroad (student, TAMK and internship).
• A student going on an Erasmus+ internship can also be granted additional Erasmus+ individual support fewer opportunities top up.
• Outgoing trainees can apply for a training grant for an internship in a non-EU country from the Tampere University of Applied Sciences Foundation.
