Why go international?
Experience of different working cultures and professional practices around the world is an important part of developing your expertise and preparing for your future career. In today’s multicultural society, graduates need the skills to communicate effectively and operate confidently in an increasingly global labour market. Students at Tampere University of Applied Sciences have excellent opportunities to complete part of their degree abroad. Options include student and traineeship exchanges, intensive courses, and a wide range of international projects.
You can also gain international experience without leaving TAMK. International exchange and degree students, together with distinguished guest lecturers from around the world, create a truly international learning environment on campus. This form of internationalisation at home is further supported by the fact that some lectures, courses and entire degree programmes at TAMK are delivered in English. You can also become involved by joining the Student Union Tamko as an international student tutor, helping incoming exchange students settle into life at TAMK.

International office and coordinators
International office works on the possibilities on going on exchange or doing your internship abroad. Students are encouraged to take part in the international studies and traineeship exchange programmes during their studies, but extensive internationalisation opportunities are available even at home.
Degree programmes have their own international coordinators, who inform the students of the available exchange opportunities and guide with these opportunities. In addition, the coordinators support with the international exchange programmes and help exchange students.
International office collects and dispenses information to you on international exchange opportunities around the world. They also organise international orientation and coordinate the tutor activities of exchange students in cooperation with the Students´ Union Tamko. If you are about to leave for international exchange, your traineeship supervisor helps you, but with practical matters you can turn to international office.
