Tampere higher education cross-institutional studies

Degree and exchange students who have enrolled as present at Tampere University (TAU), Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK), and Police University College (Polamk), and TAMK’s professional teacher education students may also take courses at other local higher education institutions.

To facilitate this collaboration, the institutions have established Tampere higher education network in autumn 2025. This network replaces the previous Service for Tampere Higher Education Cross-Institutional Studies.

Through the network, students from Tampere University and TAMK will apply for cross-institutional studies for the spring semester 2026 via their home institution’s study information systems (Sisu for University and Pakki for TAMK). Approved study attainments are also automatically transferred to the study information system of the student's home university.

In spring semester 2026, students at Police University College will still apply for Tampere University's cross-institutional studies using the Open University's application form. More information is available from kjt.tau [at] tuni.fi (kjt[dot]tau[at]tuni[dot]fi). Students at Police University College apply for courses offered by TAMK in the Peppi system of their home institution.

At Tampere University, the general course registration dates for the third period are 10 November – 09 December 2025, and the course registration dates for the fourth period are 26 January – 16 February 2026. 

At Tampere Universities of Applied Sciences, the general course registration dates for the third period are 24 November 2025 – 4 January 2026. The course registration dates for the fourth period are 19 January – 22 February 2026.

Some courses may have continuous registration or other variations in registration periods.

Please note that Police University College will not offer cross-institutional studies during the academic year 2025–2026.
