Tampere University Student’s Guide

Certificates and confirmations for exchange students

To confirm the length of your exchange study period, many home universities ask for a document such as a certificate of attendance, confirmation of stay, letter of confirmation, or a similar form. These documents confirm your exchange dates and are typically validated by the host institution (Tampere University) with an authorised signature.

Please note: Tampere University uses an automatically generated certificate for Erasmus+, Nordplus and Nordlys exchange students. An arrival certificate is issued by email during the Welcome Week, and a corresponding final certificate is issued at the end of the exchange period. For the autumn semester 2026, the certificate will be sent on 19 August 2026

If you are not an Erasmus+ or Nordplus or Nordlys exchange student (for example, bilateral), you will not receive the automatic certificate and should instead submit your home university’s form for signing.
