Students will develop an understanding of organisational security, resilience, and governance networks, focusing on the analytical assessment of security and safety policy processes. They will gain insight into the roles and interactions of security organizations at various levels, examining the policies and strategies that enhance security governance and resilience. Through theoretical and methodological approaches, students will analyse security risks and interrelated factors affecting societal stability, political and social order, and organisational resilience.
Students will learn to critically evaluate how local and global security issues such as transnational crisis in migration, terrorism, climate and health, intersect, shaping national policies and resilience at the organisational level. They will examine complex security challenges, such as organised violence and the ecological, socio-cultural, and economic dimensions of sustainable development, understanding their implications for resilient organisational structures in the context of multilevel and network governance, international public administration and crises management.
The specialisation option will enhance students’ capacity for critical thinking and decision-making, especially in contexts requiring adaptive problem-solving in the face of uncertainty.
Upon completing the specialisation, students will be able to engage in academic and public discussions on security governance and resilience within national and organisational security issues in international security contexts. They are equipped to interpret, critique, and communicate research-based insights on security governance and resilience.
