The MOOC provides an advanced introduction to Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) based on videorecorded sessions with foremost experts from around the world. Participants engage in online discussions by posting comments on the course materials, also with the opportunity of meeting once a month the instructors synchronously. An outline of the sessions and the corresponding contents of the MOOC modules is presented in the following:
Module A “Four Generations of CHAT” (single module worth ½ credit)
Modules B “The Object of Activity and Historicity” (combination of two modules: B1 on the Object of Activity, and B2 on Historicity - each module worth ½ credit)
Modules C “Expansive Learning, Activism and Trans/Formative Methodology” (combination of two modules: C1 on Expansive Learning, and C2 on Activism and Trans/Formative Methodology - each module worth ½ credit)
Modules D “Dialectics, Contradictions and the Germ Cell” (combination of two modules: D1 on Dialectics and the Germ Cell, and D2 on Contradictions - each module worth ½ credit)
Modules E “CHAT Conceptions of Culture and Development, artifacts and instrumentality” (combination of two modules: E1 on CHAT Conceptions of Culture and Development, and E2 on Artifacts and Instrumentality - each module worth ½ credit)
Module F “Transformative agency” (single module worth ½ credit)
