This course is an orientation and introductory course to the Master's Degree Programme in Leadership for Change (LFC). Students will learn about Tampere University as a study environment, the requirements of the degree programme, and the LFC approach to the study of leadership and change dynamics.

The course consists of two parts as follows:

The first part (1 ECTS) is dedicated to orientation to academic life and the requirements of the degree programme. This part consists of various sessions that facilitate the start of studies and the engagement with the Tampere University community. It also involves preparing a personal study plan and participating in a teaching session offered by the university library. The first part is organized by the university’s centralized services as joint lectures for all international Master’s degree programme students, expect for programme introduction and personal study planning sessions, which are implemented within the LFC programme.

The second part (4 ECTS) includes two separate sections. The first section consists of the LFC programme’s own content (3 ECTS), which focuses on a set of key concepts that provide students with conceptual tools to recognize and analyse organizational and societal change dynamics. It also includes literature review workshops. The second section consists of sessions aimed at facilitating the development of students’ pre-professional skills and preparing them for working life in Finland (1 ECTS), with special emphasis on employment processes. These sessions are jointly organized by select international master’s degree programmes operating at Tampere University.
