The course aims to develop i) participants' knowledge and expertise of technologies and innovations targeting the goals of sustainable development, ii) ability to analyze their business potential in consumer and business markets, and iii) ability to develop technologies commercialization strategies and business models. Special attention at this course is given to circular economy enabling innovations, market analysis, sustainable business models and managerial practices. During the course, we will specifically discuss how commercialization process can be planned and managed, how innovation can be adjusted to the market trends and demand for sustainable solutions set by consumers, business firms, authorities and other interest groups, and how business models and strategies can be analyzed with different tools and implemented in practice. Simultaneously, we take a pro-active stance studying how new markets and competitive advantage can be gained through sustainability. Additionally, there will be discussed challenges of sustainable development as well as social and environmental responsibility of business actors.

Completion option 1
The students are expected to attend in-class lectures, study individually assigned reading materials and work in teams. Thus, the evaluation is based on the student`s individual work (essays writing) and group work on real-life case study that includes a presentation in the class and report writing.
