- Orgaanisen kemian systemaattinen nimistö (IUPAC) sekä keskeiset orgaanisten ja bio-orgaanisten yhdisteiden luokat. Orgaanisten yhdisteiden esiintyminen luonnossa.
- Hiiliyhdisteiden sidokset ja molekyylirakenteet, isomerian eri lajit, optinen aktiivisuus ja peilikuvaisomeria.
- Yleisimmät reaktiomekanismit. Orgaanisille yhdisteille ominaiset reaktiot ja valmistusmenetelmät.
- Johdanto spektroskooppisiin analyysimenetelmiin (NMR, IR ja UV-VIS) ja massaspektrometriaan.
- Johdanto teolliseen orgaaniseen kemiaan.
