Master´s Thesis, Natural Sciences, 30 cr

In order to attain a Master's degree, the student must complete a Master's thesis, thereby indicating his/her readiness for scientific thought, command of the necessary research methods, familiarity with the subject matter of the thesis and an ability to carry out scientific communication in their own field of study. A Master's thesis is based on supervised experimental or computational research from which a written report is drawn up, containing the abstract (in Finnish or Swedish, and in English), an introduction, a literature review, materials and methods, results, discussion and conclusions. In addition, the student has to pass a maturity examination, related to the thesis work.

Before starting the project, a project plan must be prepared to be accepted by the professor responsible for the MSc specialization.
