Methodology refers to the collection of approaches and tools used to conduct a research project, from aligning the study with a certain research paradigm to choosing the most fitting materials and methods and addressing relevant research ethical perspectives. This course introduces students to the basics of research design and central methodological questions and tools in qualitative game studies. The students will be introduced to different types of game studies projects and their methodological approaches as well as relevant methodological literature and ethical guidelines. Course work is focused on lectures and student-facilitated reading groups. The students will also create a research plan.
