The course examines the ongoing computational turn in social, political, and economic sciences. We examine overall motivations driving the computational transformation and their implications to research design. We identify how methodological approaches from data science, network analysis, simulations and complex systems as well as interactive systems may be used to answer research question and develop our social science and technological imaginations to work with these methods. We examine the implications of computational turn for research ethics, validity, and reliability as well as research process.
