The starting phase of doctoral studies is crucial for the successful completion of the whole project. Beginning doctoral researchers need to take the driver’s seat from day one, and acquaint themselves with the university services, the practices of supervision, and the tools and resources available to manage their own research project. The Orientation Day organised by the Doctoral School provides not only efficient onboarding and information packages, but also networking opportunities with other doctoral researchers. The day provides information on Tampere University as a research and study environment and on the extensive courses available to doctoral candidates.
