Correspondence of old studies for doctoral studies
This page includes transitional provisions, correspondence tables and instructions for doctoral studies. For bachelor and master's studies, see the page Correspondence of old studies.
Expiration of completed credits, new curriculum and planning of studies
The main principle is that the study units completed in postgraduate degree do not expire and they are included in the degrees with the original credit points. The faculty councils decide on more specific criteria of validity and expiration.
As the new curriculum enters into force on 1 August 2025, teaching will be arranged accordingly. Students can transfer to complete their degree according to the degree structure described in the curriculum for 2025-2027, meaning that they need to draft a new personal study plan (PSP) on Sisu. Please indicate on this form, if you want to study according to the new curriculum. Your study right will be updated within approximately one week, after which you can create a new study plan in Sisu.
If a student has begun their studies before 1 August 2025, they can continue completing the studies within the framework of transition rules in accordance with the previous degree structure and use that curriculum to plan and complete their studies.
The correspondence of study units may be indicated in the transitional provisions verified by the faculties in the transition from the old curriculum to the new one.
The correspondence of study units is described in Sisu as well. Instructions for planning studies and Sisu are published separately. See also general Sisu instructions: Updating the personal study plan as the curriculum period changes.
Transitional provisions and correspondence tables
