ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS

Venue rental for the defense, travel and accommodation costs for the opponent, and fees for pre-examiners and opponents
→ The Faculty covers venue costs, fees, travel, and accommodation expenses

Travel must be arranged using the most economical method
Defenses must be held on university premises
Accommodation is covered for a maximum of 2 nights
A new fee is paid for re-examination

Note on fees: €450 for pre-examiners and €550 for opponents

Daily allowances for opponents
→ The Faculty does not cover daily allowances

COSTS RELATED TO PRINTING AND LANGUAGE REVIEW OF THE DISSERTATION

Printing costs for the dissertation
Includes copies for the faculty (9), library (2), and legal deposit copies (6);

→ The Faculty covers these mandatory 17 copies
Price counter available from the printing service

Language review of the dissertation
→ The Faculty covers language review costs up to €2000 during doctoral studies, if needed. Assistance is not provided for texts written in the author’s native language.

HOSPITALITY COSTS

Dinner on the evening before the defense
→ The Faculty covers dinner for the opponent, custos, and doctoral candidate. Maximum €100/person.

Lunch before the defense / refreshments during the defense (3–5 people)
→ The Faculty covers lunch before the defense and refreshments during the event.

Post-defense coffee
→ The Faculty may cover coffee, tea, and cake for up to 50 people (unless the employer pays for the catering).

Congratulatory flowers for the doctoral candidate
→ The Faculty does not cover flowers or other floral arrangements.

Tailcoat rental for the opponent
→ The Faculty covers the rental, if needed.
