Joint guidance and counselling services
The joint guidance and counselling services offer supplementary support and guidance for the guidance given in the faculties. You may get guidance from the joint counselling services no matter in which degree programme you study. In the joint guidance services you will find support for example: well-being, career planning, study skills and individual study arrangements.

Self-study materials
Take advantage of the following self-study materials:
- Well-being
- Student`s Compass (virtual well-being and life skills programme). The course Student's well-being and life skills, 1cr, uses the virtual programme. The course is available in every study period

Individual counselling
Joint Guidance and Counselling Services will be on summer break from Midsummer until the end of July. Appointments for autumn can be booked again starting in August.
The guidance counsellor will help you clarifying your study situation, in reflections related to well-being, and structuring your future goals and choices. If you are unsure where to start in figuring out your situation, you can contact the guidance counsellor. The services of guidance counsellors are available to all students at Tampere University (note. free times are only shown for two weeks ahead. If you do not see the available slots immediately, check again the next day).

The career counsellor will help you explore your career options. Contact the career counsellor when you have questions about internships, your impending graduation, articulating your knowledge and skills, employment opportunities or potential career paths. This service is intended for BSc and MSc students of Tampere University (note. free times are shown for four weeks ahead. If you do not see the available slots immediately, check again the next day).

The study psychologist will help you with issues related to study skills and ability to study – in situations where studying is not going as expected or is too stressful. During appointments, it is possible to identify and address obstacles that slow down or block your studies, and find ways to support your studies. Support is available, for example, in developing study skills (including motivation and procrastination) as well as for managing with stress. The services of the study psychologist are intended for our BSc and MSc students.

Specialist handling individual study arrangements will help you with individual study arrangements. You will be eligible for individualised support and individual study arrangements, if you have a diagnosed illness, disability or learning difficulty that may affect your ability to undertake or demonstrate learning.
