Tampere University

Orientation Day for doctoral researchers

There is plenty of new information to take in when you begin your journey to the doctorate. Enrolling into courses, new communication channels, funding, data management and searching for relevant literature and more. The best way to orient towards your work as a doctoral researcher is to participate in the Orientation Day.

The Orientation Day provides you with information on the key services and steps you can take to get the best out of your doctorate at Tampere University. You will also hear experiences from your peers. The event offers you the opportunity to build contacts with your colleagues and support your dissertation research.

All doctoral researchers, including those who’ve already started their doctoral journey, are welcome!

Please note that your own doctoral programme and/or faculty may organise a separate orientation event. Do follow your tuni-email account closely for their news.

Useful information and the materials of the Orientation Day are always at your reach in the Doctoral Orientation Moodle area.

In Sisu, the Orientation Day is TAU.TRI.101 Orientation Day. You can also find the study unit information in the curriculum and teaching schedule. No credits are awarded for participating in the Orientation Day, but a study attainment can be recorded.

For further information about the Orientation Day, contact doctoralschool [at] tuni.fi (doctoralschool[at]tuni[dot]fi).
